My Life as an RA

WELCOME WEDNESDAY!!

TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY!! WHY?? I HAVE A CAMPUS WIDE EVENT!!! I am so excited!! PICS TO COME FROM THE EVENT!!

Anyways… let’s talk about the winner mentioned on my lovely title, shall we? WE sure shall.

Last night I was on duty, and at around 130 AM I go down to lock the lounge. When I close the lounge door, a bunch of drunk people come out of the elevator to go to the bar… I hear someone throw a cup in the elevator and I asked who threw it and the last kid out said he didn’t do it (of course). One of the girls in the elevator picked up the cup for him. I have a few things to mention on his behalf:

1ST: He does not even live in our building

2nd: He goes there to get his laundry done and drink

3rd: He has no respect for anyone there (hence the thrown cup)

Verdict: NUMBER ONE PLACE ON MY HIT LIST!!

WHAT A WINNER!!!

Next time I see him, he will get a nice loooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggg talk about how I do not respect his lack of respect in my Hall. I think I might have to write this down with big eloquent words just to throw him off.

We will see =)

ANYWAYS!! HAVE A HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

I do not even know where to begin with this blog. I absolutely love food, and I love cooking it. One of my favorite things about living in an apartment is being able to be creative and cook. One of the ISO’s called me the floor chef yesterday because any time you put something in the pan the whole hallway smells wonderfully.

Unfortunately there are mishaps sometimes and we end up with fire alarms. My roommate caused one a couple of months back because she left the pan on the heat too long. She put butter on it and our apartment door was open, so the smoke went to the hallway and the rest was history.

Today I wanted to direct everyone to a blog I am currently following. She posts some really cool recipes and tips as well!! This is helpful for the college student trying to get by, or to people who are trying to learn to cook! =) Illustrated Bites

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

look for my throwback thursday post tomorrow =)

Hi!

So my title is really confusing because if you search the word ISO I guarantee you will not find what I am talking about. The ISO I am talking about is the institutional security officers on our campus that are not quite officers but pose some authority. They are like RA reinforcements we could say =)

ANYWAYS… since I am at the downtown housing, we did not have an ISO last semester and we did not start with one. Suddenly we now have ISO’s. I personally do not mind (more people to talk to :D) but the residents seem to be thrown back by it.

I have been receiving many questions about this and NO, no one is in trouble! Every building on campus has ISO’s doing rounds and just showing there presence, except for ours. We finally have that and that’t is =) I think many people are concerned because now they have to figure out how they will sneak in the alcohol since we have the ISO’s there starting at 3PM.

OH WELL! IM HAPPY! They are fun to talk to!

Have an enjoyable day!

P.S…2 DAYS TO SPRING BREAK!! WOOT WOOT… much needed =D

Snow day

Posted on: March 2, 2012

Hey bloggers,

So my school is traumatized by snow due to the ridiculous snowpocalypse that happened in October. Since then, we have had a basically snowless winter… UNTIL… wednesday!!

I am an RA in downtown housing so we have to deal with city parking. Unfortunatley, the city is not very helpful and so we are stuck with having to try and be the go to people for what the city is doing (even though they do not really inform us). Around 10PM on wednesday night an officer started ticketing all the student cars parked on the side street without warning. Apparently there was a street parking ban that had bveen updated at 7PM. Many students were checking the website and saw nothing until around 10:15PM. My boss tried to get him to wait a couple minutes so we could get people to move their cars and he refused to help out and said the tow would be coming in an hour.  Me, another RA, my boss, and another RD, were running around the building telling people to move their cars. Apparently the website we checked was not the most reliable, even though the city clerk told us to use that site. Luckily we were able to get all the cars moved before the tow showed up and all the students will be appealing the tickets! =) Love downtown housing but not when it comes to parking!

From now on, we will be checking the local t.v. station and getting the update from the weather blog to help out the student and their commute to campus!

Have a great weekend!!!

Hey bloggers!

It has been a while since I have updated. SORRY! I have had some pretty boring days. A lot of studying and “you-tubing” has been going on. My new favorite video on youtube would be the girl who sneezes with one eye open. Click here to watch. I just cannot get enough from it.

Anyways, the most exciting thing that has happened in this whole week would be the missing fire extinguisher in my building. The Resident Director sent an e-mail out and all the RA’s had to go around and knock on the doors. The next day the extinguisher was back, but empty. We have no idea who used it and where they discharged it. In light of this week’s event, here are two links: the first is how to use an extinguisher, the second how to clean up.

Besides exams and fire extinguishers, my days have been pretty boring. The long weekend is right around the corner and I can’t wait to go home and enjoy the family and boyfriend! For some inspiration on the rest of the week… =)

Do any of you have any interesting stories to tell? Mine have been pretty boring lately.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
