Lover boy

Posted on: April 9, 2012

Good morning everyone!

So I was on duty last weekend and let me tell you, I do not know what story I should tell. Should I talk about the drunk kid who had too many shots and got transported to the hospital, but left his mark as the all time funniest drunk kid EVER!! or the one about the drunk kid who has basically loved me for two years but hated me at the same time?

I chose to talk about lover boy.

I was sitting at the desk with my boss and here comes in 3 guys who are pretty drunk. They were not from our building so they couldn’t get into the building. One of them showed me his I.D. in attempts of getting me to open the door. The next 30 minutes was history…

He recognized me and pointed to me and said YOU!! YOU GOT ME IN TROUBLE ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAh is all I could do. He was the first person I had ever gotten in trouble in my RA career. THE 1ST NIGHT I WAS ON DUTY!! (i’ll talk about that story on one of my throwback thursday posts =D). He was so mad and yet so happy to see me that I honestly was so confused. When him and his friends finally got inside, they sat down and stayed talking to us for a half hour.

He said that ever since the night he got in trouble he had the biggest crush on me and when he saw me around campus he just wanted to choke me but he would never because I was so cute and he had the biggest crush. Apparently he even described me to his mom. He went on and on about how he wanted to take me on a date. I found out he had a girlfriend and I told him that she would be very upset that he was trying to get some other girl to go on a date with him. His response: “OH BOY! Would she ever!!”

He eventually left with a group of friends and came back 2 more times that night! The third time he came back, I pretended that the officer on with me was my boyfriend and that made him feel awkward and he ended up not coming back.

By the end of the night his stories of how much he likes me became repetitive and annoying.

I just find it interesting how life is a cycle, sometimes it’s same situations different people, and other times, it’s the same people different situations =)

I am super excited it is Friday. I work this weekend and we have senate banquet tonight! Senate Banquet is like a prom for college kids =) anyways that is not what I am here to talk about so here’s my story…

Last week was an amazingly nice week full of sunshine and warm weather. When I got back to the building I decided to sit outside on the patio with the ISO and another RA. We were having a nice conversation and than I got the call, not just any call, but the call that started it all.

One of the RA’s from the building needed me to post a sign on his door for him and so I went innocently upstairs to put a sign on his door. Once that was all set, I decided to go up the elevator to the 5th floor to grab the RA phone because I was going to be on duty that night. The elevator took too long so off I went to the stairwell.

When I opened the door to the stairwell, I literally get rammed by a big black lab and a resident trying to rush up as fast as possible. I looked at the dog and looked at him and than the dog again. I was speechless. Personally, I was dying to pet the dog and play with him, but I just couldn’t. I ask the kid what the heck he was doing with the dog. He said that he took it for his friend to go to dinner with her parents. than he said and I quote “I told her I would take the dog and I never thought I would run into the RA.” I guess today was just his lucky day =) I sent him away, but that was not the last time I saw him.

Let’s just say everything else that happened that night (which was ALOT) was revolved around this kid and his apartment. HECTIC night…but that is a story for another day =)

Here is a funny video that I know anyone can relate to if they are the RA or the resident =) ENJOY!!

Snow day

Posted on: March 2, 2012

Hey bloggers,

So my school is traumatized by snow due to the ridiculous snowpocalypse that happened in October. Since then, we have had a basically snowless winter… UNTIL… wednesday!!

I am an RA in downtown housing so we have to deal with city parking. Unfortunatley, the city is not very helpful and so we are stuck with having to try and be the go to people for what the city is doing (even though they do not really inform us). Around 10PM on wednesday night an officer started ticketing all the student cars parked on the side street without warning. Apparently there was a street parking ban that had bveen updated at 7PM. Many students were checking the website and saw nothing until around 10:15PM. My boss tried to get him to wait a couple minutes so we could get people to move their cars and he refused to help out and said the tow would be coming in an hour.  Me, another RA, my boss, and another RD, were running around the building telling people to move their cars. Apparently the website we checked was not the most reliable, even though the city clerk told us to use that site. Luckily we were able to get all the cars moved before the tow showed up and all the students will be appealing the tickets! =) Love downtown housing but not when it comes to parking!

From now on, we will be checking the local t.v. station and getting the update from the weather blog to help out the student and their commute to campus!

Have a great weekend!!!

Hey bloggers,

So Friday night was an interesting night to say the least. Besides the fact that I had to sit downstairs at the duty desk until 2am, I got to see some interesting residents. I have no funny stories to tell today and I would like so say we had another successful weekend here in the building. NO DAMAGES!! WOOT WOOT!! =)

What I did get to see was a lot of drunk residents with a sweet tooth. I brought a bag of 250 dum dum lollipops to the desk with me and let me tell you, by the end of the night I barely had any left. I had residents grabbing them by the handfuls, and even some that would come downstairs just  to grab more and more. By the end of the night, the residents were getting pretty drunk and excited about these lollipops. On my last round or so I ended up having to pick up lots of lolis on the 4th floor because some residents decided to go on a loli throwing frenzy (note to self: next time limit the number of lolis =P)

ANYWAYS… my favorite resident of the night was one who came downstairs specifically to grab some lollipops. He decided that he wanted to get the mystery flavor, but feared what flavor he would get. I told him to close his eyes and pick, he did so, and let me tell you it was so funny! He closed his eyes and lightly caressed each lollipop until he found the perfect one. He opened the wrapper and it was a beige colored pop. With excitement he tried it and when we asked the flavor his answer was ” I honestly do not know…I think I smoke too much that my taste-buds are shot.” SO MUCH FOR THAT!!!

Speaking of funny quotes, another resident said his lollipop tasted like strawberries and vodka. HAHAH… the officer with me turns to me after the resident leaves and says the strawberry is the pop, the vodka, what he must be drinking. GOOD TIMES ON FRIDAY NIGHT!!!

To end this happy post, here is a picture of the penguin ice cream cake I made yesterday!

Hey Bloggers,

I know what your thinking, what the heck does vodka and munchkins have to do with another. Apparently they don’t, but they were two things that were in my face yesterday!

Our building has been so good with not having damages lately that my boss decided to treat the residents to some juice and munchkins. It was very fun sitting downstairs and watching all these people chow down on munchkins. It’s nice to see how simple things make people happy =)

When we were cleaning up we see one of the residents about to enter the building with a box of beer and a bottle of vodka. He quickly turned around and put the stuff back into his car. What makes this worthy of blogging about is because he got in trouble not even 2 weeks ago with alcohol and here he comes strolling into the building like it’s no big deal. To make things even more interesting, he lives on the same floor as the RD… talk about lesson not being learned!

Oh well!! I got my munchkins so I’m happy =)

Have a happy weekend! Let’s pray for nothing toOo crazy this weekend…. I’ll be working =)

Hey bloggers!

This weekend was a long weekend (thank you presidents!) Because of that I was able to go home. My boyfriend and I were not able to celebrate valentines day so we sort of did this past weekend.

For valentines, he got us nerf guns! I do not know where to begin to describe the excitement of loading the bullets, cocking the gun, and shooting! I got a little carried away and hit him in the face several times including his eyes. Lesson learned… wear goggles =P

When I had to come back, I really wanted to bring the gun but I couldn’t because of school policy. Unfortunately my nerf fun is done…until next time!

“no hall sports” (one of the rules we need to enforce as an RA) Don’t want to get caught now do we? Maybe next time I’ll bring it in a pull the “I didn’t know my room was included in hall sports” card, or the “nerf isn’t a sport” or just say “it’s nerf or nothing” and close the door!

We’ll see what happens!
